Supervisory Visitor Use Assistant

This position is located at Cape Cod National Seashore and duty stationed in Provincetown, MA. The incumbent directs the daily activities of a fee collection operation. Subordinate employees collect and account for fees, disseminate information and provide resource orientation to visitors. Major duties include but are not limited to:
The position engages in a variety of functions including:
supervise, plan, schedule, and assign work to subordinate staff and provide technical and policy direction. Set work unit goals in accordance with divisional goals and priorities. Evaluate the work performance of subordinate staff. Provide training, advice and counsel to subordinate staff on both work and administrative matters. Collecting government monies and dispensing passes. Regularly conducts fee audits. Maintains, distributes and tracks accountable stock. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position includes work that involves directing daily activities of a fee collection operation such as, but not limited to:
collecting, handling, tracking and depositing monies; auditing fee collection and deposit procedures; supervising/leading, scheduling and managing others involved in fee collection and visitor orientation; use technology and software in revenue and fee management; resolving employee and visitor complaints related to fee collection operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
